What operating systems are your plugins supported on?

Our plugins are supported on macOS 10.13+ (Intel or Apple Silicon) and Windows 10+. Our Kontakt instruments work on any computer running Kontakt 6.6.1+.

What plug-in formats are you plugins offered in?

VST3 (64-bit)
Audio Units (64-bit)
AAX (64-bit)

What DAWs will your plugins work in?

Our plugins has been tested in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Cubase, FL Studio, and Reason. It should work in any other DAW supporting VST3, AU, or AAX plugins.

Do you offer a free trial of your plugins?

Yes! You can demo our plugins for 14 days.

How do I download your plugins?

All downloads of our plugins are through our fulfillment partner, Moonbase - click one of the download or purchase buttons on our software page to get started!

How do I install your plugins?

To install one of our plugins, simply run the installer package. Restart your digital audio workstation before loading your plugin. On macOS, you may need to restart your computer for new plugins to appear in some hosts.

How do I activate your plugins?

When you load one of our plugins in a DAW, you will be prompted to enter or create a Moonbase account. If you have purchased said plugin, you will be able to activate the plugin. If not, you will be able to start a trial. If you are having trouble activating your plugin license, please contact us at contact@halflightmusic.co.

Do I need an iLok for your plugins?

Nope!

Can I transfer my plugin license to another user?

No, sorry. Unfortunately, we are not able to support license transfers to another user at this time.

Are your plugins available through any resellers?

At this point, Half Light only sells plugins through our fulfillment partner, Moonbase. Any sales from other 3rd party sellers are unauthorized by Half Light. As a result we cannot provide customer support to plugins purchased through unauthorized 3rd parties.

Why do I need Kontakt to use The Ekotape Piano, Dust Bowl Piano, or Lo?

Kontakt is host software developed by Native Instruments for many virtual instruments and sample libraries. The Ekotape Piano, Dust Bowl Piano, and Lo were developed as sampler instruments for use inside the Kontakt environment.

Will your Kontakt instruments work in the free Kontakt Player?

Our Kontakt instruments instruments can be loaded in the free Kontakt Player in DEMO mode, which will allow you to use the instrument without any limitation for approximately 15 minutes. For full use of our (free!) Kontakt instruments, Kontakt Full 6.6.1+ is required.

Why can't I create an account on your website?

We use Moonbase as our fulfillment partner to handle the user portal, purchasing, and downloads because they're great at that.
